Math & Time

Mathematics is similar to time. It is a meek human attempt to define an abstract concept through a human approximation. Numbers and “constants” such as pi, e, and 1/3 are prime examples of the limitations of our numerical system, and simply point to the fact that that is all it is, a system. Every human attempt at science is a weak attempt to explain the incomprehensible workings of the world around us. Humans can observe with the senses and brains that we have, but we are constantly guessing at how things work. This realization shouldn’t be something that brings fear or frustration, but instead comfort because we can know that we are not powerful enough to ruin God’s plan for this world. We don’t need to understand the intricate details of concepts such as infinity or time. We were created to be able to create which means that we can take the building blocks that we have been given and explore this mysterious world around us, but we have to begin with the understanding that the impossible is indeed possible, even if it’s unexplainable through human language.
