Sometimes it’s the most random of things that hit you and remind you of the intricacies of this planet. Seconds ago, I was sitting criss cross applesauce in my room cutting into an orange as I noticed the beautiful pattern that lay inside. I don’t know if any of you have stopped to notice how oranges work, but apparently I never had because I was in awe. Oranges are made up of little bubbles of juice in each slice. It’s so cool how they weave together and form such a tasty little thing. This awe ended rather quickly when I squirted myself in the face and was brought back to reality.
A little bit of research later from the wonderful Wikipedia and I had learned that these sacs are called juice vesicles or citrus kernels and they are where the pulp comes from that we find in orange juice.
Next time you bite into an orange, look at the marvels beyond the taste. What is something that hit you out of the blue and left you in awe?
