He is risen!

He is risen indeed!

Death has already been conquered and Christ has won. Our God is a god outside of the limitations of time. He is the alpha and omega. He is the same yesterday and today and forever. We have no fear for tomorrow because we serve a God who reigns eternal. Earthly death has no hold over us as our souls are eternal beings with an eternal home in heaven.

Today is the in between day of Easter weekend. Yesterday was Good Friday, the day where we reflected on Jesus’ sacrifice on the cross. Tomorrow we will rejoice at his triumphant resurrection.

Set aside some time today to reflect on all that Christ has done for you. Praise Him for His endless mercies that are new every day. Encourage others with the hope of this good news. Live a life that is worthy of being called a child of God. From the point of salvation, you have an eternal Father and home. Your earthly home may be messy now, but rest in knowing that your heavenly home is perfect and your heavenly Father is the definition of perfection.

Holidays like today can be hard on many people. Reach out to those that you know aren’t with family this year. As Christians, we are a body of believers under one God. We should be living in community and living as the family that we truly are. Invite people into your home and live out what you claim to believe. We are called to love God first and in loving God we are to love others. This love is what sets us apart from this world. We are not meant to blend in, but to stand out as a light in the sea of darkness.

Enjoy your time with family and friends, but do not forget what and more importantly who we are celebrating this weekend.
