This morning Ryan Stevenson’s song When We Fall Apart came on my speaker and the line “It’s ok to fall apart” hit me out of the blue.
My whole life I’ve always pushed forward, worried that if I paused for even a second I’d completely crumble under the weight of life, unable to put myself back together.
This lifestyle is not sustainable, and in fact, falling completely apart is a dire necessity for a broken human being because it is through our inability to put ourselves back together that we recognize the supreme ability of our perfect God to make us whole.
We should not live in the false reality of leaning into our own imaginary strength and in fact it is a waste of energy to even try to do so.
You do not have the strength to continue on in life.
You do not have the strength to put yourself back together.
You may be able to fake this strength temporarily on your own, but your facade will one day crumble beneath you and you will be left defenseless and vulnerable to attack.
It is in the falling apart that we allow ourselves to be pieced back together by our perfect God.
We rest in knowing that He works all things together for the good of those who love Him and we rest in knowing His ways are better than our own.
We let Him establish our steps as we slowly put one foot in front of the other while leaning fully in His strength.
I challenge you to give up today.
Stop running away and surrender your life at the feet of the Creator of the universe.
Cry out to Him to rescue you from this race that you have been running for so long on your own.
Ask Him to help YOU.
Ask Him to save YOU.
Escape from the all consuming slavery of self and be set free in the slavery of serving Christ.
This world will never satisfy.
You will never be able to rest or have a hope for tomorrow on your own.
Jesus offers an incomprehensible peace to His children who ask Him for it.
He gives you a purpose and a hope for all of eternity.
To my believing friends, I want to remind you of this hope that we have in Jesus.
You must let go of the facade of your past life that you are clinging onto.
Fall completely apart at the feet of Jesus and each day watch as He holds you together.
He has a plan for your life and He will guide you on the path He has for you.
You have nothing to prove to anyone as you are made worthy and set apart through the blood spilled for your life on the cross.
Flood your life and your being in this blood.
Let the blood fill you with an urgency to love others as Christ loved and loves you.
Rest in knowing that it is in Christ alone that you are able to stand.
Fall apart and let your facade crumble so that God can be given the glory in making something beautiful from your broken pieces.
To God be the glory forever and ever! Amen.
